To promote padel throughout the nation, McDonald’s India, through Westlife Foodworld, has established a strategic relationship with the Indian Padel Academy (IPA by Game Park Pvt Ltd). The project intends to increase young players’ access to padel facilities and use sport to promote an inclusive, disciplined, and cooperative culture.

Padel, a rapidly expanding sport worldwide, is becoming more popular in India because to its unique combination of strategy, energy, and accessibility. McDonald’s overarching goal to promote community development outside of its restaurants is reflected in this partnership.

Using sports to inspire the next generation

Westlife Foodworld CEO Akshay Jatia highlighted the importance of sports in fostering relationships and motivating young people.

At McDonald’s India, we’ve long supported the idea that food, neighborhood projects, or common experiences can unite people. According to Jatia, “sport is a natural extension of that belief.” “We hope to inspire young people to dream bigger, play stronger, grow together, and one day make India proud on a global platform through our partnership with the Indian Padel Academy.”

The program will give kids access to top-notch instruction and facilities, promoting padel play from a young age and helping them to grow as athletes and individuals.

Developing infrastructure and reaching a wider audience

The partnership aims to create a national padel ecosystem, going beyond local courts. Padel Park India’s co-founder and head of marketing, brand development, and strategy, Nikhil Sachdev, emphasized the project’s aspirations.

“India is prepared for padel’s next phase. This focuses on international collaborations and top-notch infrastructure, going beyond the courts,” Sachdev stated. “Our partnership with McDonald’s India is a significant advancement. Through municipal leagues, accredited training, and school programs, we hope to enroll youngsters all around the country and see future world-class padel players come from India.

A history of sports assistance

From grassroots initiatives to major international events like the Olympics, McDonald’s has a long history of sponsoring sports. This collaboration with IPA carries on that tradition in India by emphasizing community development and youth involvement.

McDonald’s India furthers its position as a cultural and social catalyst by investing in padel, assisting in the development of a new generation of athletes and leaders via athletics.
