Andreescu’s injuries

Bianca has been struggling a lot with her injuries. She was sidelined for long earlier this year after she decided to push too much on her struggling right shoulder after Indian Wells. Later, Bianca played also with a problem to her right groin in Toronto where she won the title.

When asked about her injury, Bianca answered:

“I didn’t make the same mistake that I made at Indian Wells earlier this year. I had some groin pain in Toronto, so I didn’t want to push it in Cincinnati, where I sadly pulled out. My priority is the US Open. It’s one of the biggest Slams, so I wanted to take it easy and prepare. I decided to be at home prior to this with my friends and family.

I have prepared very well physically and mentally the last two-and-a-half weeks, so I’m feeling fresh.”

About her upcoming match, Bianca commented:

“I actually played her earlier this year. It wasn’t an easy match, as she gets to a lot of balls and is a tough competitor. I’m not expecting anything easy, and she’s American, but hopefully I can get some support from the crowd.”
