Stan Wawrinka defends his title in Geneva to claim his 16th career single tournament (the first of this season).

Stan didn’t have the cleanest run to get this trophy after being 1 set down in the final against Zverev. Eventually, the world no.3 took full advantage of his experience to win the match 4-6 6-3 6-3.

The level was extremely high. WAWRINKA

Stan was elated with winning his second title in Geneva to comment

“The level was great today; I think it was a great final. Mischa was playing very well, and maybe I was hesitating a bit in the beginning. I’m happy that I came back strongly in the second set and managed to turn the match around.

I’m extremely happy to win my second title in Switzerland. It means a lot to me. This is the first time that my daughter is in the stadium when I win the title, and that makes it even more special.”

Stan will now head to Paris where he will play Josef Kovalik in the opener.
