Jasmine Paolini opened up about her journey through a season filled with challenges, triumphs, and personal evolution. Reflecting on her performances, she described the emotional intensity of competing at the highest level.
“I’m happy every time I step on court and I feel good,” she said. “Last season has been truly truly unbelievable, truly amazing.”
Despite the highs, Paolini acknowledged the difficulty of maintaining the same level of play as the previous year. She admitted to moments of inconsistency but remained proud of her achievements.
Rome Victory and National Pride
One of the defining moments of Paolini’s year was her victory in Rome, a milestone that carried deep significance for her and for Italian tennis fans.
“I won Rome, which is for an Italian, it’s a dream,” she said. The win marked the end of a 40-year wait for a homegrown champion, a moment of hometown glory that resonated across the country.
Climbing the Rankings and Facing Change
Paolini recounted the uphill battle of breaking into the top 100 and earning a seeded spot at Grand Slam events. Each step forward came with its own set of obstacles, including a coaching change that tested her resilience.
“It was tough to enter the top 100 when I was like 150… then I did it,” she said. “This year also was tough to change coaches but at the same time I feel that I grew up a lot.”
Personality Beyond the Smile
Known for her cheerful demeanor, Paolini revealed a more complex side of herself that fans rarely see.
“Honestly, I’m a bit crazy as well. I think fans don’t know that,” she said with a smile. She hinted at the desire to show more of her personality in the future, though for now, she prefers to keep some things private.
Living the Dream, Embracing the Struggle
Paolini emphasized her commitment to doing her best, even when results don’t always go her way. She spoke candidly about the pressure and the pride that come with competing at the elite level.
“I see a person that does the most that she can do,” she said. “I’m living my dream and that’s the most important thing.”
Her reflections paint a portrait of a player who continues to grow, both on and off the court, driven by passion, perseverance, and a deep love for the game.
