Kyrgios: “I am struggling with my body”

Nick concedes that he is having some physical issues

Nick Kyrgios is struggling to achieve the great results that everyone is expecting. After a decent start of the year when the Australian has reached the quarters in Indian Wells and the semi-final in Miami, Nick was non-existent during the clay court season. In fact, the youngster has played just two tournaments: Madrid where he crashed out in the 3rd round and Lyon where he lost in the opener.

I have problems with my body

According to the Australian, he is struggling with his body (hips and shoulder). Nick commented

“I haven’t had the best luck in the last couple of weeks. Obviously, my body has been letting me down a little bit, so I’m just trying to get that right before I go out there and play.

[Hips and shoulder] are okay. They’re not great, but they’re not terrible to keep me out, so we’ll see how it goes.

It’s OK. I’m actually working on a couple of niggling injuries, but I’m doing everything I can to get ready for my first round.”

 The opener vs. Kohlschreiber

Kyrgios will have a tough opener at the Roland Garros where he will face Philipp Kohlschreiber. That would be an important test.
