Jannik Sinner reflects on his win over Cerundolo and physical recovery ahead of Paris Masters quarterfinal

Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner defeated Francisco Cerundolo 7–5, 6–1 to reach the quarterfinals of the 2025 Paris Masters

A strong finish after a shaky start

Jannik overcame early inconsistency to secure a straight-sets victory over Francisco Cerundolo in the third round of the Paris Masters. Despite twice going up a break in the first set, Sinner struggled to close it out efficiently. “I was up twice with the break in the first set. Couldn’t convert. I put myself in an uneasy situation,” he said. “Happy how I handled the match. I felt much better.” The Italian eventually found his rhythm, dominating the second set and wrapping up the match in under 90 minutes.
