Emma Raducanu expressed excitement about her debut at the United Cup, a tournament that blends ATP and WTA players in a national team format. The event offers a rare opportunity for players to compete alongside their compatriots in both singles and mixed doubles.

“I’m honoured to be able to make my United Cup debut in January. Being able to play for Team GB with my teammates is a unique opportunity and week to enjoy. It’s great to be able to experience a new format on the tour, represent my country and spend a couple extra weeks in Australia,” said Raducanu.

Her comments reflect a growing enthusiasm for team-based events that break from the solo rhythm of the regular tour.

Draper Joins Raducanu for Team GB

Jack Draper will join Raducanu in leading Team GB’s campaign. Both players ended their 2025 seasons early and are looking to build momentum heading into the Australian Open. Their partnership adds depth to the British squad, which will compete in group stages across Perth, Brisbane, and Sydney.

The United Cup serves as a valuable warm-up for the Grand Slam season, offering match play under competitive conditions and a chance to bond with teammates. With Raducanu’s return to form and Draper’s powerful baseline game, Team GB enters the tournament with optimism.
