Cam Norrie delivered a standout performance at the Paris Masters, defeating world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz 4–6, 6–3, 6–4 in the second round. The victory marked a personal milestone for the British player, who has battled injury setbacks and inconsistent form throughout the season.

“Massive. So big for me,” Norrie said after the match. “I’ve been coming back from my injury… last year I lost first round of qualies here. Just trying to enjoy my tennis the second half of the year. I was able to do that.”

Overcoming the Odds

Facing one of the most confident players on the ATP Tour, Norrie remained composed and aggressive. He capitalized on Alcaraz’s errors and maintained pressure throughout the match.

“To get a win like this… this is the biggest win of my career, my first over a world No. 1,” he said. “Especially probably the most confident player in the world right now… him and Sinner combined.”

Staying Mentally Strong

Norrie’s resilience was key to his success. He created multiple opportunities and refused to let missed chances derail his momentum.

“So pleased with the way I did it. Having a lot of chances and having to keep pushing and keep going for more. I was able to stay tough and get the win. I’m really pleased,” he added.
