Carlos Alcaraz exited the Paris Masters earlier than expected after a three-set loss to Cameron Norrie. Despite winning the first set, the Spaniard struggled to maintain his level and was visibly frustrated with his performance.

Disappointment Despite Preparation

Alcaraz had spent several days training in Paris and felt confident heading into the match. However, his form on court didn’t match his expectations.

“I had a lot of practices here, which I was feeling great, feeling amazing, moving on the court, hitting the ball. I had all the ideas clear, all the goals clear,” he said. “Even in the first set, even that I won, I just felt like I could do much more than what I did.”

The second set marked a turning point, with Norrie taking control and Alcaraz unable to respond effectively.

“I tried in the second set just to be better, but it was totally the opposite. I just feel even worse,”

Alcaraz admitted.

Credit to Norrie

While Alcaraz acknowledged his own shortcomings, he also praised Norrie’s performance.

“I have to give credit to Cam, as well, because I think he didn’t let me stay or come back to the match,” he said. “I had few breakpoints, which I would say could have been really helpful for me. I didn’t take it with really easy mistakes.”

Looking Ahead

With the ATP Finals in Turin and the Davis Cup approaching, Alcaraz is focused on recovery and preparation.

“I will try to prepare myself as better as I can, coming to Turin, coming to Davis Cup, really important tournaments that I have ahead right now,” he said. “Right now I just want to be back home, and let’s see what’s I gonna do.”
