Amanda Anisimova looked to be in a great mood ahead of her US Open campaign. The media were already writing stories about her highlighting Amanda’s huge potential as the American was expected to go deep in the tournament.
Unfortunately, the sparkling teenager was suddenly hit by a tragedy as her beloved father and longtime coach Konstantin died abruptly. That was a huge blow for the 17-year-old that understandably decided to skip the US Open.
Given her strong personality, Amanda is expected to bounce back strongly from this terrible moment, but it is going to be even more difficult for her to compete since she was used to having her father with her on tour.
Still grieving, Anisimova posted a lovely picture on Instagram with her on the laps of her father. Heartbreaking.
