Roger Federer has finally announced his decision about his participation at the upcoming Roland Garros: he will not play!
The Swiss sensation has already decided to skip the entire clay court season, and he stated he would have taken his decision about the French Open by the 10th of May. During a recent interview, the Maestro stated that he had the intention of winning the French Open if he decided to play, but things went probably south when he tried his body on clay.

3 REASONS: Why Roger decided not to play
Federer had already a fantastic start of the season after he won the Australian Open, Indian Wells, and Miami. That put him in a strong position to qualify for the World Tour Finals.
Also, Roger decided already not to play the clay court season (his less favorite surface) that was dominated by an outstanding Nadal. Changing the surface to clay is always tough on the body, and since the Maestro didn’t have huge chances to win the French.
Roger will play three tournaments back to back on grass (Stuttgart, Halle, and Wimbledon) and he will definitely try his best for the American summer where he has a great record in Cincinnati (7 titles) and at the US Open (5 titles). Therefore, the Maestro will try to preserve his body for that stint.
