Casper Ruud captured his second title of 2025 and the 14th of his career with a commanding 6-2, 6-3 victory over Ugo Humbert in the final of the Stockholm Open. The Norwegian was in complete control throughout the 68-minute match, dropping just three points on serve and converting three of six break points. His performance marked his first indoor title and only his second on a surface other than clay.

A meaningful win close to home

The Stockholm triumph held personal significance for Ruud, who grew up watching legends compete at the historic tournament. “I am really happy to win here in Stockholm and it is a little bit of a childhood dream as it is close to Norway and all the legends have played here in the past. Federer, Nadal, Borg, McEnroe, you name it. So it is an honour to get a title here,” Ruud said during the trophy ceremony.

His victory also made him the first Norwegian to win the BNP Paribas Nordic Open, adding another milestone to his growing résumé.

Race to Turin heats up

With the win, Ruud moved to 11th in the ATP Race to Turin, keeping alive his hopes of qualifying for the year-end ATP Finals. The result capped a strong week in which he defeated Marin Čilić, Sebastian Korda, and Humbert without dropping a set in the final two rounds. His form suggests a late-season surge as he aims to re-enter the top 10.

Conclusion

Casper Ruud’s Stockholm title was more than just another trophy—it was a moment of personal pride and professional momentum. His dominant performance against Humbert and emotional connection to the venue made the victory one of the highlights of his season.
