Nadal, Djokovic to clash in Madrid

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic will play a blockbuster semi-final in Madrid.

Rafa is having a smashing tournaments after he demolished Kyrgios in the 3rd round (6-3 6-1) and he defeated an excellent Goffin in the quarters (7-6 (3) 6-2). Nole had a much easier task in the quarters as he didn’t even have to play after Nishikori retired due to a right wrist problem.

I need to play very well. NADAL

Even if Rafa is extremely happy with his current results, the King of Clay is fully aware that he has to play at his very best against Djokovic.

The Mallorcan commented

“It’s going to be a very tough match against one of the best players in tennis history. I’ve been playing at a high level during many weeks. I know tomorrow is going to be a day that either I play really well, or I’m not going to have many chances.”

The head to head

Djokovic leads Nadal 26-23, and the Spaniard hasn’t beaten Djokovic since 2014 when he defeated the Serbian in the Roland Garros final. Nadal leads Nole 14-7 on clay. The Mallorcan is the favorite.
