She won three matches in the Wimbledon main draw before she was finally defeated by Simona Halep. This incredible achievement has helped her get a huge fanbase in a short span of time.

Jewel Peterson, who coached Coco in Atlanta when she was around 8 years of age, says: “Coco is a coach’s dream, I never had to tell her, ‘Run your laps, do your dynamic.’ I never had to tell her how to start her practice. She did it on her own. To this day, I still have not seen anybody that driven.”

Coco is a self-motivated player who has a clear aim to become a champion of the sport, she likes to look at tennis as a release, she says:  “I’m not forced to practice, but I know I have to do it if I’m gonna get better, it’s like my job, but it’s also leisure, I guess.”
