Brian Baker to play the final against Almagro – 250 ATP Nice

The fairy tale keeps on going. Brian Baker is back to an ATP tournament after 7 years (and 3 hip,1 elbow and 1 hernia surgeries) to defeat players such as Monfils and Davydenko to reach straight away a final against Almagro!

The American qualifier was 1 set down against the Russian to lose at the tiebreak. Then Brian managed to regroup to conquer both the 2nd and 3rd set to win the match 6-7 (5) 6-4 6-2 in 2h and 31 minutes.

Brian will play an inspired Almagro that demolished Simon 6-1 6-3 in 68 minutes. Almagro got to the final without dropping a set.

The winner will collect a 91.000USD check… but that’s not really important for Brian.

Good comeback!!!
