Incredible stuff at the US Open as for the second consecutive year Denis Shapovalov and his dear friend Felix Auger Aliassime will clash in the 1st round.
Felix’s heart problems
Last year it was a tough one for Felix that had to go through the qualifications to get to the main draw. After that, the young Canadian withdrew in the 3rd set against Denis for a heart-related problem. Eventually, Auger-Aliassime had a small procedure later in the year that corrected the issue, but that was not a nice experience.
1 year later
Fast-forward 1 year and things are completely different. While in 2018 it was Shapovalov to be ranked higher than his “buddy,” this year Felix is the Canadian no.1. The 19-year-old is ranked no.19, and he is no.13 in the year-to-date rankings. On the other side, Denis is struggling with a world no.38 rank.
