National teams from all across Asia and Oceania will compete in the first-ever FIP Asia Padel Cup, which will take place in Doha, Qatar, from October 17–24, 2025.

Padel’s New Chapter in Asia

The event, which is being organized by the International Padel Federation in partnership with Padel Asia and the Qatar Tennis Federation, is the region’s first official continental cup. Both male and female national teams will compete in two stages of the tournament, which is being held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.

17 national teams placed between fifth and twenty-first in Asia and Oceania will compete in the first stage, which takes place from October 17 to 19. Four groups will be formed from these teams, and the winners of each group will move on to the final round. The best four teams in the area will join the qualifiers to compete for the title from October 20 to 24.

Increasing Speed in Qatar

One of the major contributors to the growth of padel in Asia is Qatar. The nation has established itself as a regional center for the sport thanks to its dedication to organizing international competitions and constructing top-notch facilities. It is anticipated that the FIP Asia Padel Cup will increase padel’s popularity and awareness in the Middle East.

According to Tariq Zainal, the secretary-general of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, Padel, and Badminton Federation and president of the Asian Padel Federation, “technical and logistical preparations are almost finished to welcome participating teams.”

A Wide Range of Rivals in the Market

Bahrain, China, Indonesia, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates are among the 14 nations that have declared their intention to participate. Jessica Marie Agra of the Philippines, who leads her country’s squad into the competition and is currently rated No. 149 in the FIP rankings, is one of the notable athletes.

Considering her ascent in the rankings and the chance to play for her nation on a continental level, Agra remarked, “Even just being a part of the highest level of padel would be a dream come true.”

Gazing Ahead

An important stage in the sport’s growth throughout Asia and Oceania is the FIP Asia Padel Cup. Padel has the potential to establish itself as a mainstay in the local sports scene thanks to expanding infrastructure, rising participation, and clever alliances.

Both players and supporters are getting more excited as the tournament draws near. In addition to showcasing its contribution to the development of padel, Doha’s hosting of the event lays the groundwork for next regional international tournaments.
