Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova wins her 10th career title in Rabat after defeating an evergreen, Francesca Schiavone.
The key moment of the match was when Anastasia won 7 of 8 games to reverse a 2-4 deficit in a 7-5 2-0 lead. Then, after a huge fight in the second set, the Russian won the final 7-5 7-5 to clinch her second title of the season after Monterrey.
I am enjoying this moment.
After the match during the on-court interview, Anastasia commented
“It was probably the toughest match of the tournament. We’ve had really tough matches in the past on clay as well, so I knew it would be so tough. And it was. I’m so happy and relieved I won.
It feels great, it’s always nice to win a title and win any match. A win is a win, I always say. I just love to win, it feels amazing, and I am enjoying this moment now.”
Anastasia will now head to Madrid where she will face Sorana Cirstea in the opener.
