In addition to competing for spots in the Race to the Finals and the FIP World Cup Pairs, which are set for November in Kuwait, winners will get 1000 FIP ranking points.
Milan’s fresh schedule and attractiveness on a worldwide scale
Luigi Carraro, president of the FIP, highlighted the significance of Milan’s new calendar position during the press conference at Palazzina Appiani, Arena Civica: “After three wonderful editions held in December, with this new placement in the calendar, padel fans and champions from around the world will be able to enjoy the extraordinary nature of this city. Milan was one of the first cities to believe in the Premier Padel circuit and in a sport that is proving it has all the requisites to become an Olympic discipline.”
Allianz Cloud’s role and community impact
Martina Riva, Milan’s Councillor for Sport, Tourism, and Youth Policies, expressed enthusiasm for Premier Padel’s return: “I am truly happy about Premier Padel’s return to Milan. I can say that the Allianz Cloud was born thanks to Premier Padel: the images of the P1 in Milan have gone around the world, with padel attracting young people and families, bringing music, lights, and friendships. We are ready to set new records.”
Lombardy’s padel growth and infrastructure
Lombardy remains one of Italy’s leading regions for padel, boasting 400,000 players out of the country’s 1.5 million practitioners. Federica Picchi, Undersecretary for Youth and Sport of the Lombardy Region, commented on the sport’s rapid growth: “These are exciting numbers, both in terms of players and courts. My main concern has always been sports facilities, but considering these data, I must say that padel is one of the sports I won’t have to worry about.”
