Jannik Sinner is set to face Alex de Minaur in the Beijing semifinal, a matchup that has historically favored the Italian. With a 10-0 head-to-head record against the Australian, Sinner remains cautious and respectful of the challenge ahead.

“Well of course. I feel like these conditions are quite unique. The court is quite slow at times. Especially with the used balls. It’s gonna be very difficult to get through.. to get past him,” Sinner said when asked if he expects De Minaur to change tactics.

Respect for De Minaur’s evolution

Despite his dominant record, Sinner acknowledged De Minaur’s recent improvements and praised his form throughout the tournament.

“He’s one of the fastest players we have. But again, it’s a great challenge for me. He has improved a lot in the past months. He’s playing some great tennis,” he added.

Anticipating a high-level contest

Sinner remains focused and motivated, aware that past results don’t guarantee future success. The semifinal promises intensity and tactical depth, with both players in strong form.

“Today we didn’t see much but in the previous rounds he played a lot and great tennis. I’m expecting a very tough match to come. We all hope for a great match,” Sinner concluded, setting the tone for what could be one of the standout clashes of the tournament.
