Simon, seeded nr.2, had an easy one with Dimitrov (baby Federer) in straight sets to play Bellucci (6-4 6-3 to Ferrero).
The day recorded also a shocking defeat from Monfils at the hand of qualifier and world nr.216 Brian Baker 6-3 7-6 (0) and another upset suffered by Tomic from Kukushkin 3-6 6-2 7-5.
