Francesca Schiavone is not done!

The Italian player at 36 years of age is still very willing to win another title (her 8th), and she is just 1 step away from that in Bogota’.

Francesca has reached the final in Colombia without dropping a set in the entire competition. In the semi-final, Francesca edged Johanna Larson 7-5 6-4.

During the post-match interview, Francesca commented

“In my heart, I knew I could reach this final because I worked really hard to be here. When you work hard, things happen. Sooner or later, it happens. This is just the confirmation of everything I knew, everything I wanted or could imagine.

Last week I played against Kerber and lost by a handful of points. I was close, but it didn’t happen. I’m just happy it happened here in Bogota; the people here enjoy my tennis and respect me a lot. It means a lot for me.”
