The 2025 Laver Cup will take place from Friday, September 19 to Sunday, September 21 at the Chase Center in San Francisco. The event is structured into day and night sessions on the first two days, followed by a single continuous session on Sunday.

  • Friday and Saturday feature two singles matches during the day session, and one singles match plus one doubles match during the night session.

  • Sunday begins with a doubles match, followed by up to three singles matches. If one team reaches the required number of points before all matches are played, the remaining matches are canceled and replaced with an exhibition match following the trophy ceremony.

The order of play and player lineups are announced the day before each session, adding strategic suspense to the competition.

Format and scoring system of the Laver Cup

The Laver Cup is contested between Team Europe and Team World, each consisting of six players and led by a captain. The format includes 12 matches—nine singles and three doubles—played over three days. Each match is best-of-three sets, with the third set decided by a 10-point match tiebreak.

Scoring escalates each day to ensure the final session remains decisive:

  • Friday wins are worth one point

  • Saturday wins are worth two points

  • Sunday wins are worth three points

The first team to reach 13 points wins the Laver Cup. If the score is tied at 12–12 after all scheduled matches, a final doubles match is played to determine the winner.

Each player must compete in at least one singles match during the first two days, and at least four players from each team must participate in doubles. This format encourages team strategy, rotation, and tactical pairings, making the Laver Cup a unique blend of individual skill and collective planning.
