Jannik Sinner has officially confirmed his participation in the 2025 Erste Bank Open, set to take place in Vienna from October 20 to 26. The announcement came shortly after his appearance in the US Open final, signaling his continued commitment to one of the ATP Tour’s most prestigious indoor events.
A Familiar Stage for the Italian Star
This year marks Sinner’s sixth appearance at the tournament, a venue that has played a significant role in his career. He first competed in Vienna in 2019, entering the main draw with a wildcard while ranked 119th in the world. Since then, he has steadily climbed the rankings, reaching the semifinals in 2021 and winning the title in 2023 after a dramatic three-set final against Daniil Medvedev.
A Strong Field of Competitors
The 2025 edition of the Erste Bank Open promises high-caliber competition. Alongside Sinner, five other top-ten players have already confirmed their participation, including Alexander Zverev, Jack Draper, Alex de Minaur, Lorenzo Musetti, and Karen Khachanov. Additional names such as Tommy Paul, Frances Tiafoe, Flavio Cobolli, Tomas Machac, Andrey Rublev, and Daniil Medvedev are also expected to compete.
Vienna Holds Special Meaning
Sinner has often spoken fondly of Vienna, describing the tournament as one of his favorites on the calendar. He has credited the event for offering him opportunities early in his career and praised the city’s hospitality. His return in 2025 is not just another entry on the schedule—it reflects a deeper connection to the venue and its fans.
