Injury Setbacks for Shelton and Paul
Shelton, ranked No. 6 globally, retired from his third-round match against Adrian Mannarino after experiencing a shoulder injury. It marked the first time in his career that he was unable to finish a match. Paul, ranked No. 14, has been dealing with a series of physical setbacks throughout the summer, including a back issue that flared up during his five-set loss to Alexander Bublik. His earlier injuries included an abdominal strain and a ruptured tendon in his foot.

Michelsen, 21, enters the Laver Cup with a growing reputation and notable doubles experience. Although he exited early at the US Open, his skill set is expected to be a valuable asset under the guidance of Team World captain Andre Agassi.
