Team Australia had a fantastic day against the USA in the Davis Cup quarter-final in Brisbane.
World no.79 Jordan Thompson upset the American no.1 Jack Sock (ranked no.15) 6-3 3-6 7-6 (4) 6-4. Jordan was extremely solid for the entire match while Jack wasn’t as sharp has he has been during the beginning of this season.
Kyrgios
In the second match, Nick Kyrgios confirmed he is already playing like a top10 player after defeating John Isner 7-5 7-6 (5) 7-6 (5). Once again the young Australian impressed for his newfound mental toughness. After the match, Nick commented “I thought I played really well. I’ve been trying to knuckle down and compete for every point.”
