Why Federer will not play the clay court season

Roger Federer has just amazed the tennis community after winning the Australian pen, Indian Wells, and Miami; after winning the sunshine double, the King surprised again when he announced he won’t compete for the entire clay court season with the exception of the French Open.

Why I will not play the clay court season. FEDERER

Soon after defeating Rafael Nadal in the Miami final, Roger explained to the ESPN why he will skip the clay court season.

“When I am healthy and feeling good, I can produce tennis like this,” Roger commented said.

When I am not feeling, this good there is no chance I will be in the finals competing with Rafa. That is why this break is coming in the clay court season, focusing everything on the French, the grass and then the hard courts after that.

I’m not 24 anymore so things have changed in a big way and I probably won’t play any clay court event except the French.”

The French Open will start the 28th of May. This break will be great for Roger that has won “just” 11 clay court titles in his huge career.
