Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic had to bow in the Cincinnati semifinal to a rather sensational Daniil Medvedev. The Russian was meant to be tired after played his 15th match in 19 days, but eventually he managed to find the solution against the Serbian Legend.

The Russian was outstanding especially on his second serve as he decided to just blast it without fearing to commit double faults. That was one of the keys of the match according to Novak Djokovic.

He deserved to win the match. DJOKOVIC

During the press conference following his match against Medvedev, Nole was extremely gracious to comment

“I thought I played a really good match. But when someone serves a 128 miles-per-hour second serve and doesn’t make too many double faults and goes for every shot, you just have to put your hat down and congratulate him.

He definitely has a lot of confidence. When you have so much confidence, then obviously you allow yourself to go for these kinds of shots. I congratulate him. He deserved to win the match.”

Djokovic’s elbow injury and the US Open

Djokovic will now start his final preparation for the US Open. The world no.1 expressed his concern about a “tightness” to his elbow after his encounter against Pouille in the quarters stressing the fact that he was happy to finish the match. There was not much mentioned about his condition during the match against the Russian. However, it’s difficult not to notice that Nole lost the serve on 3 occasions. Let’s hope that the world no.1 will be fully fit for the last slam of the year.
