Thrilling Sunday at the Foro Italico
Sharapova has been just crowned again the Queen of Rome (see article) and we were all waiting for the new King. Unfortunately the rain didn’t make it possible. On top of it the organizers decided to pospone the match also for security reasons. In fact, not far away there was the final of the soccer Italian Cup between Napoli and Juventus and it was considered as not be safe to mix the fans.
Both players also pushed for not playing in order to avoid unpleasant surprises on a muddy court.
So what happened?
Well Rafa played snooker with his team and the fans vented their frustration throwing bottles on the court.
The final should be played on Monday, but the weather forecast are not really good. Expect a 2/3 days final instead.
