LIVE RANKINGS. Medvedev 1 step from world no.5 rank

Daniil Medvedev is rising fast in the rankings

Daniil Medvedev

Daniil Medvedev is the man of the moment on the ATP tour. The 23-year-old from Russia has just got to his 3rd consecutive final in Cincinnati, the 6th of this year, after beating the great Novak Djokovic in the semifinal.

Medvedev reached the final in Ohio after beating Kyle Edmund 6-2 7-5, Benoit Paire 7-62 6-1, Jan-Lennard Struff 6-2 6-1, Andrey Rublev 6-2 6-3 and Novak Djokovic 3-6 6-3 6-3.

Medvedev’s ranking

Currently ranked no.8, the Russian has now 3795 “live” points and this means that he has overtaken Stefanos Tsitsipas that has 3455 live points. Daniil can achieve even more if he beats David Goffin in the final in Ohio. In fact, in this case, Medvedev would amass 4195 points to leapfrog both Kei Nishikori and Sascha Zverev and be the new world no.5 (career-high) from next Monday.

H2H vs. David Goffin

This will be the 3rd time that Daniil Medvedev and David Goffin lock horns. The H2H is 1-1 (see full H2H stats), 1-0 on hard for Medvedev.

The last time that they played, Goffin won 4-6 6-2 3-6 6-3 7-5 in the 3rd round in London back in July 2019.
