Rafael Nadal plays another fantastic match. The Spanish legend defeated Jack Sock in just 83 minutes. After a smooth first set when Rafa won 6-2, the Mallorcan was in a rather uncomfortable position in the second set when he had to come back from a 0-2 15-40 scoreline; Jack wasted a terrible volley when he was playing the second break point, and that was game over. Rafa conquered the next five games to win the match 6-2 6-3.+

During the post-match interview, Rafa commented
“I think I was under control during the whole first set. In the second set, it was so important to save that game at 0-2, 15/40, and then get the break back in the next game. It was two positive things in two straight games that probably created a lot of damage to him.”
The semi-final vs. Fognini
Nadal will play Fabio Fognini in the final 4. The head to head is 7-3 for the Spaniard, but it’s 3-3 in the last six games. Rafa is the obvious favorite against the world no.40.
