Murray has a tear in his elbow. JAMIE

Andy Murray is not expected to play the upcoming Davis Cup tie against France. Last week, the world no.1 had to pull out from Miami as he needs to recover from an injury to his arm that got worse and worse in Indian Wells,

He has some tear in the elbow. JAMIE

During a recent interview, Jamie explained what’s going on with his brother. The Brit commented

“Obviously, it’s some tear in his elbow, so he needs to rest. He said he could do everything except serve, and he told me rest was all he had to do,’ said Jamie, referring to the Davis Cup.

I am not planning that he is going to be there, but if he is then obviously it’s great for the team, and we’ll see what happens, but the most important thing for him is just to get healthy because he has had a few issues now. He’s had shingles and he has had his elbow, he was sick here as well for two or three days.

I think he just needs to get a bit settled and get a good crack at it over the next three months because there’s a lot of big tournaments to play.”

The rumour is that Murray may be out for as long as 6 weeks and he will be back for Madrid. Andy is scheduled to play the ATP1000 in Monte Carlo in April. Let’s see if he can make it.
