LIVE RANKINGS. Daniil Medvedev overtakes Stefanos Tsitsipas. Nishikori, Zverev, next?

Daniil Medvedev keeps on rising in the rankings

Medvedev Tsitsipas

Daniil Medvedev is having a fantastic moment in his career. The Russian no.1 was the runner-up in the last 2 events he played in Washington and Montreal, and he is in pole position in Cincinnati to win the title.

RANKINGS. Daniil new world no.7

After reaching the final 4 in Ohio, the Russian has 3555 “live points” to overtake Stefanos Tsitsipas that has 3455 live points as the Greek crashed in his opening match. This means that Medvedev will be ranked at least no.7 from Monday, a career-high for him.

… what about being no.5?

Medvedev can improve his rank even more if he wins the tournament in Cincinnati. In fact, in that case, he will accumulate 4195 points that would be more than the current live points of Kei Nishikori and Alexander Zverev (both with 4005 points).

Year to date rankings

Even more interesting, Daniil is no.6 in the “live year to date rankings” and he can overtake (again) Stefano Tsitsipas to be no.5 if he reaches the final in Ohio.

Next vs. Novak Djokovic

Daniil will have to face Novak Djokovic in the semifinal. The head to head is 3-1 for the world no.1 that unfortunately is struggling with a problem to his elbow. Daniil won their last mac hin Monte Carlo earlier this year 6-3 4-6 6-2.
