Djokovic in Cincinnati

Novak Djokovic is having another fantastic run in Cincinnati where he reached the semifinal without conceding a single set on the way. The world no.1defeated Sam Querrey 7-5 6-1, Pablo Carreno-Busta 6-3 6-4, and Lucas Pouille 7-62 6-1.

However, there are some clouds at the horizon as the Serbian sensation admitted that he is struggling with his elbow. That was a huge problem for the world no.1 a couple of years ago when his all career was at risk.

Djokovic about feeling some pain in his elbow

After his victorious quarter-final against Lucas Pouille, Nole revealed:

“I had some tightness, especially on my serve, and managed to finish the match which is great but the pain is there so hopefully I’ll have no pain tomorrow. I’m going to see right now after the match, so hopefully will be fine for tomorrow.”

Djokovic had a medical time-out during the second set to take care of his elbow.

The semifinal against Daniil Medvedev

Nole will face an in-form Daniil Medvedev in the semifinal. The Russian is in supreme form as he was the runner-up in the last 2 tournaments in Washington and Montreal. The head to head is 3-1 for the Serb, but the Russian won their last encounter in Monte Carlo.

Medvedev reached the final 4 after he defeated Kyle Edmund 6-2 7-5, Benoit Paire 7-62 6-1, Jan-Lennard Struff 6-2 6-1, and Andrey Rublev 6-2 6-3.
