Even if Stan Wawrinka and Roger Federer are fierce competitors on court, they still enjoy a fantastic relationship based on friendship and mutual respect.
Roger has already beaten Stan twice this year in the Australian Open semi-final and the Indian Wells final. Wawrinka is impressed on how Roger is playing and he thinks that he can really go up in the rankings.

During a recent interview in Miami, the Swiss commented
“He’s playing really well, what is different maybe is he is playing closer from the baseline, preferring, using less his slice, he is using more top spin, putting more pressure all the time, returning better that’s the difference I think.
For sure he has a shot for number one, he has just won the first Masters final. For sure he has a big shot.”
Stan will start his campaign in Miami as the seed no.1 (first time in his career in a Master ATP1000). He may play Roger again in the semi-final.
