Bad news from Gael Monfils that will not play for some time due to an injury to both his left patella and his left Achilles heel.
It was the Frenchman to announce his stop on Twitter posting
“The exams that I did today have revealed a chondropathy of my left patella and a tear in my left Achilles heel. I will start tomorrow a rehabilitation program and will do all it takes to recover as soon as possible.”
Gael is currently ranked no.11 and he lost in the Indian Wells third round to Dominic Thiem. Let’s hope to have him back soon also because he needs to defend lots of points in Monte-Carlo where last year he was Nadal’s runner-up.
