After his dramatic comeback win over Jannik Sinner in the French Open final, Carlos Alcaraz didn’t head straight to the practice courts. Instead, he took a short trip to Ibiza, a place that’s become his go-to retreat. The Spanish star has made it a tradition to unwind there after major tournaments, and this time was no different.

Finding balance between competition and recovery

Alcaraz has spoken openly about the toll of the tennis calendar. “I love playing tennis and I love when I step on the court,” he said, “but sometimes it’s too many days in a row, too many weeks in a row.” For him, Ibiza isn’t just a vacation—it’s a way to reset mentally and physically, surrounded by family and friends.

A strong return to the grass season

Following his Ibiza getaway, Alcaraz returned to action with renewed energy. He won Queen’s Club and reached the Wimbledon final, capping off a successful grass swing. Though he didn’t lift the Wimbledon trophy, his performances showed that the break had done its job.

Why Ibiza remains his sanctuary

Alcaraz describes his time off as essential. “I just love to take my time off just with my family, with my friends, just at home, doing nothing at all,” he admitted. Ibiza offers him a space to disconnect from the pressures of the tour and reconnect with the simple joys of life.

Looking ahead with clarity and hunger

After skipping the Toronto Masters, Alcaraz resumed his campaign at the Cincinnati Open. He’s made it clear that these breaks are not signs of burnout but tools for longevity. “For me it’s needful to come back stronger and hungry,” he said. With his sights set on the US Open, Ibiza may once again prove to be the quiet key to his success
