Kyrgios trying to laugh off what happened in Cincinnati

Kyrgios laughing after huge fine in Cincinnati

Nick Kyrgios professed his intention of becoming a “normal” tennis players after his title in Washington. The Australian said that he wanted to have a healthy routine and to back up his run in DC with some good performances in the following weeks.

Unfortunately, once again, that didn’t really happen. Beside losing in the opening match in Montreal, the world no.27 crashed out in the 2nd round in Cincinnati after having one of his epic meltdowns. Kyrgios’ antics cost him a record $113,000 fine and another series of criticisms all over the world. Nick was in full flow in his match against Khachanov from spitting at and insulting the umpire to break a couple of rackets during a “would-be” toilet break. All of this happened among all sort of swearing.

Nick Kyrgios’ reaction

Nick didn’t release (yet) any statement. Eventually, the day after he was still around training in Cincinnati (with many people watching him) and eating burgers (?). Later, Kyrgios decided to post a picture of him laughing to try to shrug off what has recently happened.

In its press release, the ATP stated that they may evaluate the opportunity of a suspension. It seems that it is still a long road for Nick to recover in order to become a “normal tennis player.”
