Jannik Sinner, fresh off his Wimbledon victory, is setting his sights on the American hard-court circuit, beginning with the Cincinnati Open. The world number one is eager to build on his momentum as he prepares for the final Grand Slam of the year, the US Open.
A Turning Point in His Game
Reflecting on his recent success, Sinner shared that a shift in his approach was key to his breakthrough. Rather than focusing on past mistakes, he concentrated on areas for growth. That mindset, he said, paid off in London. “Trying to understand not what I did wrong, but what I could improve. And then, at Wimbledon, I finally did it so I’m very happy,” he explained.
Navigating Challenging Conditions
Sinner acknowledged the demanding nature of the upcoming tournaments. With the heat and pace of play in Cincinnati and New York, he knows the road ahead won’t be easy. “The conditions here are very tough for us players. Cincinnati and New York are going to be very important for me. Hopefully, it’s going to be a good US swing,” he said.
Battle for the Top Spot
While Sinner currently holds the number one ranking, the competition remains fierce. Carlos Alcaraz is close behind, and the US swing could prove decisive in determining who finishes the season at the top.
