LIVE RANKINGS. Stefanos Tsitsipas set to lose another position after 3rd consecutive loss

It's time for Stefanos Tsitsipas to step up if he wants to secure his place in the ATP Finals

Stefanos Tsitsipas

It’s not an easy moment for Stefanos Tsitsipas right now.

The Greek sensation lost his 18th match of the year and his 3rd consecutive after crashing out in the opening match in Cincinnati against an inspired Jan-Lennard Struff. Currently ranked no.7, the 21-year-old also lost the previous 2 matches after bowing out in the semifinal in Washington at the hand of his friend Nick Kyrgios and later also in the opener in Montreal defeated by Humbert Hurkacz. This struggle is also coming after the big disappointment for Tsitsipas after he lost in the 1st round in Wimbledon to Thomas Fabbiano.

Stefanos Tsitsipas’ rankings

Stefanos is currently ranked no.7. However, after losing in Cincinnati, he may go 1 place down in the rankings if an in-form Daniil Medvedev reaches the semifinal in Ohio. That might be not easy for the Russian as he is projected to face Roger Federer in the quarters that is quite comfortable on these courts.

Live points

Currently, Stefanos has 3455 “live points” while the Russian has 3375 points after he demolished Jan-Lennard Struff 6-2 6-1. This means that if Daniil upsets the Swiss Maestro, he will have 3555 “live points” that will be enough for him to overtake the Greek this coming Monday in the official rankings.

What about the ATP Finals?

The good news for Stefanos is that he is still no.5 in the year to date rankings with a decent margin over Fabio Fognini (the no.9) that is also injured. However, it’s time for Stefanos to step up starting from the US Open if he wants to qualify for the ATP Finals in London.
