On Wednesday Nick Kyrgios was in one of his moods during a rather tough match against Karen Khachanov. The Australian was not able to capitalize on a 1-set lead to finally lose the match 6-7 7-3 6-2.
For some strange reasons, the organization decided to assign Fergus Murphy in Cincinnati as the umpire of the match even if he has a rather bad history against Kyrgios. That was the “perfect excuse” for the Australian to get “mad” during the encounter.
At the end of the second set, Kyrgios asked for a bathroom break, but he broke 2 rackets with him. As soon as he got in, he broke them all to be back without even approaching the bathroom.
The umpire looked baffled to comment at the walkie-talkie: “He went to the bathroom with two rackets and came back with two broken rackets.”
That’s another day for Kyrgios at the office.
