Nick Kyrgios confirms he doesn’t give a damn about playing the big guys. Actually, he loves that.
The Australian sensation played another great and extremely solid match against Novak Djokovic to beat the world no.2 6-4 7-6 (3). That happened just 13 days after he defeated him in Acapulco 7-6 (9) 7-5.
The Match
There was only one break in the entire match, and that was in the very first game when Djokovic dropped his serve at 30. Even if the Australian won the opener (only) 6-4, it was amazing the fact that he dropped only 7 points on his serve in the opener while Djokovic was struggling big time to hold serve in every game with the exception of the 9th
.The second set was much more even, and Nick found the solution only at the breaker. Eventually, Kyrgios won the encounter after 1 hour and 51 minutes without conceding a single break point.
With this match, Kyrgios ended an incredible winning streak in the desert for Djokovic that has won the Indian Wells title for three consecutive years.
Next vs. Federer
There is no much time for the Australian to celebrate as in the quarters he will face another legend: Roger Federer. Nick has a 1-0 record against the Maestro, and he can’t wait to add another one.
Game on!
