Why Nadal is confident to win a title after a 10 months’ draught

Rafael Nadal hasn’t won a title for ten months since he defeated Kei Nishikori in the Barcelona final in April 2016. Even if it’s not normal for Rafa not being able to win a tournament for so long, the Spanish legend is (rightly) confident about his chances, especially after he got so close from winning the recent Australian Open and the ATP500 in Acapulco (he fell in the finals on both occasions).

Why titles will come. NADAL

Even if Rafa would have preferred a different outcome from the final he played against Sam Querrey in Acapulco, the Mallorcan didn’t hide his satisfaction for the tennis that he has been playing. Soon after the final, Rafa commented

“If I play like this I don’t have any doubt that I will win titles. It didn’t happen anything; he was simply the best. In the sport, usually who plays better, wins. He played very well, almost reaching perfection. I played under a lot of pressure because of his serve and baseline game. He left me with very few options, and the few I had, he also played good. I have to congratulate him. I’m also very happy with my week and my game.”
