2 reasons why Murray should win Indian Wells

Andy Murray has won his first tournament of the year in Dubai after he demolished Fernando Verdasco in the final. Andy was back to his best tennis, and he seems to be the predestined to triumph in Indian Wells.

He can play well on every surface…

Andy’s former coach, Miles Maclagan (2007 – 2010), explains to Sky Sport why Murray can do extremely well in Indian Well. According to Miles, even if Indian Wells is not the ideal place for Andy because the conditions are particularly good for aggressive players, the Briton is still his pick. Maclagan commented

“There is no physical reason I can think of. It’s hot, which he enjoys, the ball bounces, and he’s in great shape. He can play tennis on any surface. There’s no reason why he can’t go there and do very well. He’s won the first title here in Dubai, so the first title in Indian Wells wouldn’t surprise in the slightest.”

… he is reasonably fresh

Then Miles added

“The start of the year maybe hasn’t taken as much out of him as it has done in previous years because he didn’t get to the final and didn’t have to endure that massive disappointment. He will arrive reasonably fresh, well prepared, and the most confident he has ever been.”

Murray’s best result in Indian Wells was when he reached the final in 2009 before losing to Nadal 6-1 6-2. Last year, Andy lost to Delbonis in the third round. He will try to improve that.
