Ashleigh Barty wins her maiden title in Kuala Lumpur

Ashleigh Barty has always being a huge prospect for the Australian tennis, but eventually, she couldn’t cope with some losses and some physical problems to take a two years’ break from tennis. Even if the Australian returned officially to the tour last year, in 2016 she played only three tournaments reaching the quarters in two of them (Nottingham and Taipei) coming straight from the qualifications in both cases.

This year Ashleigh finally conquered her maiden title after winning in Kuala Lumpur coming straight from the qualifications. The highest ranked player that she has faced in the event was only world no.97 Irina Falconi, but still the Australian has dropped just 1 set in the entire event. Ashleigh Barty defeated Hibino 6-3 6-2 in the final, and she is projected to break in the top100.
