This year the ATP500 in Acapulco was packed with great champions such as Djokovic, Nadal, Kyrgios, Cilic, Thiem, and Del Potro. For this reason, no one has really paid attention to Sam Querrey that eventually won the title after beating the likes of Goffin, Thiem, Kyrgios, and Nadal.

The American looked hopeless against Nadal before playing the final. Before the match, Rafa had an ominous 14-0 record in Acapulco where he has never conceded a single set in the past and the current editions. Finally, Sam shocked the Spaniard with a clean 6-3 7-6 (3) win achieved without dropping a single service game.
