Murray, Verdasco to clash in the Dubai final

Murray, Verdasco will play the 2017 Dubai final.

Murray

Andy had another tricky match against Lucas Pouille in the semi-final. The Briton had an erratic first set when he squandered a 3-1 one lead after conceding two consecutive breaks (3-4). Eventually, Andy found the solution to break Pouille another couple of times before winning the opener 7-5. The second set was extremely smooth for the world no.1 that clinched a 5-0 lead in no time. The final score was 7-5 6-2.

After the match, Andy commented

“It was tough. I don’t think it was the best match, but there was some good stuff in there, middle and towards the end of the first set. As the match went on, I started serving a bit better, and that helped me. The first set was very important to win after how the matches went yesterday.”

Verdasco

At 33 yes of age, Fernando Verdasco is definitely not in his prime, but he still has the tennis to create damage. The former world no.7 defeated Haase 7-6 (5) 5-7 6-1.

The final

Murray leads Verdasco 12-1, but they have recently played in Bercy, and the world no.1 had a very tricky victory over there after winning 6-3 6-7 (5) 7-5.
