DOPING. WHY Sharapova may not get a wild card from the Roland Garros

Recently Andy Murray vented his disagreement of the fact that many tournaments were ready to give a wildcard to Maria Sharapova after her controversial ban for doping.According to Andy, it is immoral that a player banned for doping has an easy way back, and Maria should work for it.

Wimbledon is still undecided while the Roland Garros may not give Maria the direct access to the main draw even if the Russian was the champion in 2012 and 2104 (and the runner-up in 2013).

Why Sharapova may not get the wildcard at the French Open

French Tennis Federation president Bernard Giudicelli commented

“It’s complicated. We prefer that she returns completely rehabilitated. Integrity is one of our strong points. We cannot decide, on the one hand, to increase the amount of funds we dedicate to the anti-doping battle and, on the other, invite her.”

The decision has yet to be taken, but Giudicelli had a very valid point.
