Federer will play in Rome! – 2012 Internazionali BNL d’Italia

It might have been the air, the coffee, his stroll on a touristic bus (see image here) or most probably a not-so-tough draw, but Roger finally decided to play in Rome.

Apparently Roger was on medications in Madrid for an unknown problem (that’s why he misteriously said he was not sure about him competing in Rome).

The new King of Blue Clay will try to bid for his first title here where he was runner up twice (2003,2006).

Roger has a not difficult task ahead in the next 2 rounds to play Berloq and then eventually Ferrero.

The first “top match” would be in the quarters against Isner (not in top form), Wawrinka or Tipsarevic. Roger is definately stronger then all of 3. Ok.. beware of Isner that defeated him in the Davis Cup (see article), but Roger still has an edge.

It might be an easy one to the semis. So why not trying? Worst case scenario, it would be a nice training for the French Open.

So, do not expect a top form Roger here. Rafa and Nole are the safer bets.
