Amanda Anisimova

Amanda Anisimova keeps on struggling with her body.

The American has been having problems with a back injury for the last few weeks to withdraw from the Rogers Cup and now in Cincinnati.

Currently ranked no.24, the 17-year-old posted the following message on Twitter when announcing her retirement from the event in Ohio:

Don’t watch the clock, do what it does. Keep going” The last couple of weeks have been tough for me, and I, unfortunately, had to pull out of @cincytennis. I am doing everything I can to be 100% soon.”

Will Anisimova play the US Open?

It is still not clear if Amanda will manage to get ready for the US Open. The American sensation played her last match on the 2nd of August, and that means that she will have 3 weeks to recover for the last slam of the season. That should be enough for her to give it a go.

Time will tell.
